Intel Case Study
Tell-Em PR began working with Intel Corporation on the first visit by the Chairman Dr Craig Barett in late 2008 and has since then offered PR support on a number of projects which include:
- Visit by Intel Chairman Dr. Craig Barett
- Launch of Intel Teach Program by Andre Christian at Kenya Institute of Education
- Launch of e-learning partnerships by Intel Vice President John Davies
- Launch of ACE programme by Intel, Microsoft, Cisco and USAIS
- Thought leadership article by Jacques Van Schalwkyk
- Visit to Karibu Centre in Thika by Intel Volunteers
- Education transformation workshop
Result:
Through these projects we have been able to help media perceive Intel as:
- A company that is increasingly investing in Kenya and shows strong commitment to expanding its footprint in the region.
- A company that is complementing government’s efforts to improve education through inclusion of ICT in the national development agenda.
- A key player in the local education sector through effective use of technology.
For the 2-year period of our engagement with Intel Corporation in Kenya, we have been able to generate publicity valued at over US $ 118,859 in advertising costs. This is placed against a total expenditure of US $ 25,625 as PR fees. This represents a ROI of over 500%.
We also feel that media have greater knowledge and awareness of Intel’s focus on East Africa based on the relationship so far formed with senior officials represented here. But more needs to be done to increase and strengthen Intel’s profile n the Kenyan market.
