The Intercontinental Hotel Nairobi has partnered with the Morris Moses Foundation (MMF) to host the first ever “Boresha Afya Nite” an initiative that is targeted at raising funds to achieve a 25 percent reduction in the number of patients who are treated and detained in public hospitals because of medical bills.
Intercontinental Nairobi General Manager Karl Hala says the business hotel chose to partner to host the first ever Boresha Afya Nite as a part of its effort to be involved in giving back to the same society that has supported the hotel for the past 40 years it has been in existence in the country.
“Intercontinental Nairobi is the flagship hotel for the Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG) chain in Sub-Saharan Africa. IHG has 4500 hotels in over 100 countries with 7 brands of which Intercontinental is one. Intercontinental brand has 150 hotels in over 65 countries and feels beholden to participate in any activities that will promote the livelihood of the same people who have supported in growing the chain.
We are pleased to participate in this forum that is targeted to grow to a monthly public forum that will create awareness on patient rights and stimulate debate around Kenya’s public healthcare systems,” said Mr. Hala
