Brookside Dairy to Sponsor 15 on Tour of Top South African Farms

Sep 1 2011

15 lucky Kenyans who earned a dream trip to visit some of South Africa’s leading agricultural farms courtesy of Brookside Dairy will be departing the country on the 18th of September, 2011.

The 15 were the lucky winners of a draw entered by thousands of people attending the 2011 Brookside Livestock Breeders Show & Sale at the ASK Jamhuri Park last June which attracted up to 30,000 participants both local and foreign.

They will commence the 6-day trip of farms in Durban and Kwazulu Natal Midlands in South Africa with a tour of Macnicols Dairy Farm and thereafter Chester Farm, a renowned beef farm that also produces cabbages and potatoes.

The tour will then take them to Olivar Farm along the Carisbrooke Valley, a diverse farm where besides dairy farming, sugarcane, timber, citrus and orchids are also grown. Still at the Valley, the group will visit a Citrus Packing Shed to learn how the fruit is treated chemical-free and prepared for distribution around South African and abroad.

The farm tour will end with a visit to Myhill Dairy farm at Pietermartzburg before the party is taken on a leisure trip to the Gateway Shopping and Entertainment world, and the Cape Town Fish Market. They are expected back in Kenya on the 23rd September, 2011
